Welcome to Phuket TEFL Academy
The Phuket TEFL Academy Teacher Training Program is a 120-hour accredited course providing instruction designed to prepare you for your teaching career in Thailand and elsewhere.
Extensive in-class instruction and practice will be provided, covering a wide range of teaching techniques.
Phuket TEFL Academy is a privately-operated school dedicated to educating trainees in all aspects of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. We are located on the beautiful island of Phuket, in southern Thailand.
The need for quality English teachers is now greater than ever, and we at Phuket TEFL Academy are committed in providing schools in Phuket and elsewhere in Thailand with well-trained and informed teachers.
Phuket TEFL Academy offers a comprehensive 120-hour course. Topics include all the tools a trainee will require to survive as a certified English teacher in Thailand. Topics include how to properly plan lesson, managing classroom behavior, studies of different teaching methodologies, and extensive instruction in Thai language and culture.
Trainees are given ample opportunities for real-world practice teaching in a local school and are guided by trainers with years of teaching experience in Thailand.

Language Awareness topics dealing with Grammar include word classes, sentence elements, and verb tenses. Instruction is also provided in phonemics, stress, intonation, and connected speech among other areas.
All trainees will do a minimum of 15 hours of practice teaching including in-class presentations, observed practice teaching (individual and shared), and teaching lessons to students in one of Phuket’s most popular international schools.
Trainees also receive practical tips specific to teaching in Thailand, based on our trainers’ own valuable experience. Assistance is provided in creating materials for classroom use and how to set up fun learning games.
Teaching English to Thai Learners
Instruction is also provided in Thailand’s unique culture including details of the myriad of government and Buddhist holidays you will encounter as a teacher in this country. Hints on teaching English to Thai learners are given, along with brief studies of the Thai language itself provided by native Thai educators.
